I knew I had Fibroids back in 2014 after dealing with an extremely painful menstrual cycle that would often leave me on the verge of blacking out. At the time, I experimented with a ton of holistic and natural treatments to include herbal remedies, dietary and lifestyle changes. These methods did work to curb my pain to the point that I believed my fibroids had disappeared. Fast forward to my pregnancy, the ultrasound technician pointed out 3. I was a little surprised because they never bothered me. At the time they discovered them, baby boy was in utero and pregnancy was going healthy. It wasn’t until week 35 that my fibroids became problematic. His growth wasn’t impacted, nor did I feel any pain. However, due to their location I had to change my birth plan from a natural vaginal birth to entertaining a cesarean section. I was distraught, but I was accepting. Not only that, baby boy was also breeched.
After this realization that my fibroids had grown, with one at the size of 5.2cm, I knew I needed to do something about them and be consistent with it. Especially if I ever expected to have another child and because I wanted to ensure uterine health. The cause of fibroids isn’t entirely known, however, genetics, diet and weight are all contributing factors. My fibroids never gave me issues for year. At this point though I have decided to do something about it so that I don’t wait until they do.
